As well as a theme, the show comes with an affordable price tag, all work will be under £3000.

The LITTORAL theme conveys the strong relationship the exhibiting artists have to water or the land, either through the context of, or inspiration behind their work, or the materials they are working in wood, clay and found natural materials.

Emily Ball (last showed Summer_09) continues to immerse herself in the abstract depiction of her children in swimming pools; Nick Bodimeade (Summer _10) will show new beach paintings, with inspiration gleaned from a trip this winter to the Australian coast; Felicity Mara (summer _08) continues to explore the landscape surrounding her home and studio at the tip of the Cornish Coast with a series of new paintings and works on paper. The show will introduce the work of a new painter, Robert Welch, with painterly studies of coastal locations and still lifes. Tim Hilton in the Guardian said of his work: 'I recommend the sturdy naturalistic paintings by Robert Welch. He is one of the most serious of our figurative artists, yet his vision owes a lot to his abstractionist contemporaries.'

The house and garden will have new sculptural work by three Chalk Hill artists, Richard Bray (Autumn_09 and Autumn_10) who continues to explore tall, cut forms in wood, Carol Sinclair (Autumn_09) who will show new work in natural and man-made materials and Bridget Heriz (Spring_09) who will be showing new ceramic figurative work. They will be joined by ceramicist Sue Paraskeva (Winter_09), creator of sublime porcelain vessels and by an exciting ceramic sculptor, Jonathan Keep. Jonathan's work is fantastic, and the breadth of his skill and knowledge makes for diverse and exciting pieces, influenced, in part, by his childhood and early adult life growing up in rural South Africa.
